Hindus usually perform prayers and rituals through worship performed in temples or homes. Satyanarayan Puja is performed at home, and the main aim is to obtain good omen and blessings from the Lord.\u00a0Whenever Hindus worship Lord Vishnu, one of the trinity Hindu deities, they also perform Satyanarayana Puja at the same time.\u00a0The name Satyanarayana refers to the Lord who lived in Andhra Pradesh before 400 AD;\u00a0He was the God of Hindus and an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.\u00a0The Satyanarayana Puja has five distinct parts with the placement of idols representing a phase of this ritual.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Preparation for Satyanarayan Swami Puja<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Before the puja, it is very important to collect all the necessary items required for the puja.\u00a0This is the first stage of preparation.\u00a0As per the list, purchase all the items and keep it in the room where the puja is to be performed.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the day of worship, spread a clean, new cloth in a clean room on top of a square and high platform.\u00a0This would serve the purpose of the altar.\u00a0Rain some holy rice on the cloth and place the holy kalash on it.\u00a0Now, you have to wrap another piece of cloth over that Kalash, and then install the image of Vishnu on that cloth.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gathering around the altar, the devotees should be seated in the lotus position before the worship begins.\u00a0Light all the lamps before offering prayers to the Lord.\u00a0Before the actual worship begins, offer your poojas to Lord Vishnu, Ganesha and Shiva.\u00a0Offer your prayers to Goddess Parvati and Lakshmi.\u00a0Arrange several flower garlands and place them on the images of the deities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Place turmeric pods that represent Lord Shiva and Ganesha, Goddess Parvati and Lakshmi and Lord Indra, on the altar on the north side of the Kalash.\u00a0Now, you worship the nine planets and the Sun by placing some betel nuts with betel nuts on them.\u00a0Lastly, you have to place those goddesses on the level of the betel nut to represent the seven gods and Indra, the god of the universe.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hindus generally offer their prayers and rituals through a puja that is performed in temples or homes.\u00a0Satyanarayan puja is done at home, and the main aim is to bring home good omen and blessings from the Lord.\u00a0Whenever Hindus worship Lord Vishnu, one of the Trimurti Hindu Gods, they also perform Satyanarayan puja at the same time.\u00a0The names of Satyanarayan refer to the Lord who lived in Andhra Pradesh much before 400 CE;\u00a0he was the Lord of the Hindus and the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.\u00a0There are five different parts f the Satyanarayan puja with placement of idols representing one stage of this ritual.<\/span><\/p>\n
