Your browser will ask permission to use your camera the first time; allow it, or the tab cannot show a picture. Everything after that works the same way.<\/p>\n<h2>What happens to your previous photo<\/h2>\n<p>You do not need to tidy up before you upload. When a new photo goes on, the one it replaces is removed for you automatically &mdash; there is no separate &ldquo;delete the old one first&rdquo; step, and no gallery of past photos builds up behind your profile.<\/p>\n<p>Two things follow from that, and they are worth knowing before you upload:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The change is immediate and site-wide.<\/strong> Everywhere your old picture appeared, the new one appears instead.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The old photo is not kept.<\/strong> If you may want the previous image again, keep your own copy of it on your device before you replace it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Removing your profile photo without uploading a new one<\/h2>\n<p>Uploading is not the only option. Your photo is displayed in a small round frame beside your name, so a square crop of at least 300px by 300px is what decides whether people see your face clearly or a distant figure in a wide landscape shot.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Use a real headshot, not a logo or a group photo.<\/strong> Clients choose freelancers they can put a face to, and a crowd shot leaves them guessing which person you are.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Go bigger than the minimum.<\/strong> 300px by 300px is the floor, not the target. Setting both at once makes a freelancer profile look finished in a couple of minutes.<\/div>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3>A sign-in box appears instead of the photo form<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> You are signed out, or your session has expired. The Profile Photo page belongs to your own account, so it cannot open for a signed-out visitor. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Sign in with your MyMahotsav account, then open your Candidate Dashboard and follow <strong>Complete Your Profile<\/strong> to <strong>Profile Photo<\/strong> again rather than reusing the old browser tab. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> You are certain you are signed in &mdash; your name shows in the top bar &mdash; and the sign-in box still appears; contact MyMahotsav Support with the address you were trying to open.<\/p>\n<h3>Your profile still shows the old photo after uploading<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> Your browser or phone has kept the previous image in its cache, which is very common with profile pictures. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Refresh the page, then reload it once more while holding the refresh key combination for a full reload.
