Account settings live behind the avatar, not in that list.<\/li>\n<li>Have the email address you want your payouts sent to ready, and make sure you can actually receive mail at it.<\/li>\n<li>If you plan to change your affiliate slug too, note that <strong>slugs accept lowercase letters and numbers only<\/strong> &mdash; no hyphens, spaces, full stops or capitals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 &mdash; Open Settings from your avatar menu<\/h2>\n<p>Go to your Affiliate Dashboard, click your <strong>avatar<\/strong> at the top right and choose <strong>Settings<\/strong>. The page opens on <strong>User settings<\/strong>, and it is already filled in with what is on your account right now &mdash; your current payment email sits in the <strong>Payment email<\/strong> field (ringed 1 in the picture), with the <strong>Save user settings<\/strong> button just below it (ringed 2).<\/p>\n<p>Take a moment to read the page before you change anything. The Custom affiliate slug card is separate, lower down the page.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Step 2 &mdash; Edit your payment email and payout preferences<\/h2>\n<p>Now make your changes in the <strong>User settings<\/strong> card:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click into <strong>Payment email<\/strong> (ringed 3 in the picture) and replace it with the address you want your commission payouts sent to. This is the only place your payout address is set &mdash; it is separate from the email address you sign in with, so changing one does not change the other.<\/li>\n<li>Tick <strong>Enable payout via store credit<\/strong> (ringed 4) only if you would rather be paid in store credit than to that email address. Leave it unticked to be paid the usual way.<\/li>\n<li>Under <strong>Notifications<\/strong>, leave <strong>Enable referral notifications<\/strong> ticked to keep getting an email each time you earn a referral. Untick it if you would rather not be notified.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The picture below also rings the two <strong>Custom slug<\/strong> boxes (5 and 6) further down the page, along with the red messages they can show. The page saves in place &mdash; it does not reload or take you anywhere else, so stay on the page for a second and let the button finish. Your new payment email and your payout and notification choices are stored as soon as it does.<\/p>\n<p>To confirm it worked, reload the Settings page: the <strong>Payment email<\/strong> field should come back showing your new address, and your tick boxes should be as you left them. Note that the slug messages below are still showing &mdash; this button saves the Payments and Notifications sections only.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Step 4 &mdash; Change your custom affiliate slug (optional)<\/h2>\n<p>Your custom affiliate slug is the memorable word that can appear in your referral link instead of a string of random characters. It sits in the <strong>Custom affiliate slug<\/strong> card, below the User settings card, and it is saved separately.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Type your new slug into <strong>Custom slug<\/strong>. Use <strong>lowercase letters and numbers only<\/strong> &mdash; anything else brings up &ldquo;Slugs can only contain lowercase letters and numbers.&rdquo; in red, as you can see in the picture in Step 2, where <em>amanda-rao-utsav<\/em> was rejected for its hyphens.<\/li>\n<li>A second box appears asking you to type the slug once more. It must match the first box exactly, or you will see &ldquo;Slugs do not match.&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Save custom slug<\/strong>. This is a different button from <strong>Save user settings<\/strong> &mdash; saving your payment email does not save your slug, and vice versa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div style=\"background:#f4f6f8;border-left:4px solid #9aa4b2;border-radius:8px;padding:14px 18px;margin:22px 0;line-height:1.6;\">&#8505;&#65039; <strong>Note<\/strong><br \/>Changing your slug can break links you have already shared. The page says so plainly: any existing links using an older affiliate slug may no longer work. That is why it asks you to type the new slug twice before it will save. If your old link is already out on social posts, printed cards or a newsletter, think carefully before you change it.<\/div>\n<h2>Tips and best practices<\/h2>\n<div style=\"background:#eef8f0;border-left:4px solid #2e9e5b;border-radius:8px;padding:14px 18px;margin:22px 0;line-height:1.6;\">&#127919; <strong>Best practice<\/strong><br \/>Update your payment email <em>before<\/em> a payout run, not after one. A payout that has already been sent cannot be redirected from this page &mdash; you would need to contact support. If you are moving to a new mailbox, change it here as soon as the new address is live.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background:#fff6f1;border-left:4px solid #e0592b;border-radius:8px;padding:14px 18px;margin:22px 0;line-height:1.6;\">&#128161; <strong>Tip<\/strong><br \/>Use an address you check often and that you control yourself &mdash; not a shared team inbox that may be closed when someone leaves. Payout notices and referral notifications both depend on it reaching you.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Two cards, two buttons.<\/strong> The most common mistake on this page is changing a slug and clicking <strong>Save user settings<\/strong>. Match the button to the card you edited.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep referral notifications on<\/strong> while you are getting started &mdash; they are the quickest way to see which of your links are actually converting, without opening the Referrals tab every day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Only tick store credit if you want it.<\/strong> With <strong>Enable payout via store credit<\/strong> switched on, your earnings come back as credit to spend on the site rather than a payment to your payout address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check your address for typos<\/strong> before you save. A payout email with a spelling mistake will simply not reach you, and nothing on this page will warn you that the mailbox does not exist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3>There is no Settings tab in my dashboard sidebar<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> Settings is not one of the sidebar tabs. The left-hand menu holds your reporting views only &mdash; Affiliate URLs, Statistics, Graphs, Referrals, Payouts, Visits, Creatives, Order Details, Lifetime Customers, Direct Links and Affiliate Leaderboard.<br \/>\n<strong>Fix:<\/strong> Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard and choose <strong>Settings<\/strong> from the dropdown, or go straight to <a href=\"https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/utsav-affiliates\/affiliate-dashboard\/settings\/\">https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/utsav-affiliates\/affiliate-dashboard\/settings\/<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> the direct link shows a sign-in box even though you are signed in elsewhere on the site, or the page loads with no <strong>User settings<\/strong> card at all.<\/p>\n<h3>My slug will not save &mdash; &ldquo;Slugs can only contain lowercase letters and numbers.&rdquo;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> The slug contains a character that is not allowed. Hyphens, spaces, full stops, underscores and capital letters are all rejected &mdash; <em>amanda-rao-utsav<\/em> fails for its hyphens alone.<br \/>\n<strong>Fix:<\/strong> Retype the slug using only lowercase letters and numbers, for example <em>amandaraoutsav<\/em> or <em>amandarao2026<\/em>. Then type exactly the same text in the confirmation box below it and click <strong>Save custom slug<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> a slug of only lowercase letters and numbers is still refused &mdash; it may already be taken by another affiliate.<\/p>\n<h3>&ldquo;Slugs do not match.&rdquo; keeps appearing<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> The confirmation box does not contain exactly the same text as the first box. It is an intentional double-check, because changing your slug can break links you have already shared.<br \/>\n<strong>Fix:<\/strong> Clear the second box completely and retype the new slug by hand, character for character. Watch for a trailing space or an autocomplete suggestion filling in an old value.<br \/>\n<strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> both boxes clearly read the same and the message will not clear after a page refresh.<\/p>\n<h3>I saved, but my payment email is back to the old address<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> The save did not complete &mdash; usually because the page was closed or reloaded before the button finished, or the connection dropped mid-save.<br \/>\n<strong>Fix:<\/strong> Open Settings again, retype the new address in <strong>Payment email<\/strong>, click <strong>Save user settings<\/strong> and wait a moment before navigating away. Reload the page to confirm the new address has stuck.<br \/>\n<strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> the address reverts every time even after two or three careful attempts.<\/p>\n<h3>A payout went to my old email address<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> The payout was processed before your change was saved. The Settings page updates the address used for future payouts; it cannot reach back and move one that has already been sent.<br \/>\n<strong>Fix:<\/strong> Confirm the new address is showing in <strong>Payment email<\/strong> so the next payout is correct, and check the <strong>Payouts<\/strong> tab in the sidebar for the date and amount of the one that went astray.<br \/>\n<strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> a payout has gone to an address you no longer have access to &mdash; contact support with the payout date and amount from the Payouts tab.<\/p>\n<h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q: Where do I change my payout email?<\/strong><br \/>\nA: On the Settings page of your Utsav Affiliates dashboard. Click your avatar at the top right, choose <strong>Settings<\/strong>, edit the <strong>Payment email<\/strong> field in the <strong>Payments<\/strong> section, then click <strong>Save user settings<\/strong>. Remember that the slug card is saved separately with <strong>Save custom slug<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Is my payout email the same as my sign-in email?<\/strong><br \/>\nA: Not necessarily. Your payment email starts out matching the address on your account, but it is stored separately, so you can point payouts at a different mailbox.
