It also tells shift coordinators what the Volunteer SignUp page does and does not let a volunteer change for themselves.<\/div>\n<h2>Quick answer<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Open the Volunteer SignUp page at <a href=\"https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/volunteer-signup\/\">https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/volunteer-signup\/<\/a> while you are signed in, scroll to the table headed &ldquo;You have signed up for the following&rdquo;, and select <strong>Clear<\/strong> on the row you want to drop. Clearing removes you from that one slot and puts it back on the sheet as open. That is the screen most people hit first, and it is the usual reason the Clear links seem to be &ldquo;missing&rdquo;.<\/div>\n<h2>Step 3 &mdash; Find &ldquo;You have signed up for the following&rdquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Once you are signed in, scroll past the list of sheets. Your own sign-ups sit in their own table headed <strong>You have signed up for the following<\/strong>, with the instruction <strong>Click on Clear to remove yourself from a signup.<\/strong> above or beside it.<\/p>\n<p>Each row is one slot you hold &mdash; the sheet it belongs to, the task, the date or time, and a <strong>Clear<\/strong> link at the end of the row. If you hold no sign-ups at all, this table does not appear.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 &mdash; Select Clear on the sign-up you want to remove<\/h2>\n<div style=\"background:#fff6f1;border-left:4px solid #e0592b;border-radius:8px;padding:14px 18px;margin:22px 0;line-height:1.6;\">&#128161; <strong>Tip<\/strong><br \/>Read the whole row before you select <strong>Clear<\/strong>. If you hold two slots on the same sheet, the task name and the time are the only things that tell them apart &mdash; and there is no undo once the row has gone.<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Find the row for the slot you no longer want.<\/li>\n<li>Check the sheet name, the task and the time on that row.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Clear<\/strong> at the end of the row.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The page reloads and you are taken off that slot. The slot goes back to being open on the sheet, so somebody else can take it.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 5 &mdash; Check the row has gone<\/h2>\n<p>After the page reloads, look at the <strong>You have signed up for the following<\/strong> table again. The row you cleared should no longer be listed, and the sheet above should show that slot as open. If you have cleared your only sign-up, the whole table disappears &mdash; that is normal, and it is the confirmation that nothing is left in your name.<\/p>\n<p>If you meant to swap rather than leave, sign up again straight away on the slot you actually want. Slots are first come, first served, so do not leave a gap between clearing and re-signing.<\/p>\n<h2>What you can and cannot change yourself<\/h2>\n<p>The Volunteer SignUp page is deliberately narrow for volunteers. On your own sign-ups, <strong>Clear<\/strong> is the only action &mdash; there is no edit and no move.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>You can:<\/strong> see the published sheets and their open slots, see every sign-up you hold, and clear any of your own sign-ups.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You cannot:<\/strong> change the time or task on a sign-up, move yourself to another slot in one step, clear anyone else&rsquo;s sign-up, or see the full list of who else has signed up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Organiser jobs &mdash; reviewing everyone&rsquo;s sign-ups for a sheet, moving a volunteer from one slot to another, emailing the volunteers on a sheet, or assigning people in bulk &mdash; are not part of this page and are not member-facing. If you are coordinating a shift and you need one of those, ask the volunteer team that published the sheet.<\/p>\n<h2>Tips and best practices<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Clear as soon as you know.<\/strong> The slot only becomes available again once you clear it, so an early clear gives the organiser time to refill it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>To change slot, clear then sign up again.<\/strong> Do the two actions back to back so the slot is not taken while you are deciding.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep the direct link handy.<\/strong> Everything you need &mdash; the sheets and your own sign-ups &mdash; lives on the one Volunteer SignUp page.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check before an event, not after.<\/strong> Open the page a day or two ahead and confirm the rows in your name are the ones you still intend to do.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background:#eef8f0;border-left:4px solid #2e9e5b;border-radius:8px;padding:14px 18px;margin:22px 0;line-height:1.6;\">&#127919; <strong>Best practice<\/strong><br \/>Before you clear a row, jot down the sheet name, the task and the date and time. If you change your mind, that note is the fastest way to find the same slot again &mdash; and if it has already been taken, it is exactly what the organiser needs to know.<\/div>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3>I see a sign-in notice instead of the sheets<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> You are not signed in. The Volunteer SignUp page shows &ldquo;You must be logged in to a valid account to view and sign up for volunteer opportunities&rdquo; to everyone who is signed out, including people who have signed up in the past. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Select <strong>Login<\/strong> under the notice, sign in, then open the Volunteer SignUp page again. If your browser blocks cookies for the site, allow them and try once more. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> you are definitely signed in elsewhere on MyMahotsav and this page still shows the notice.<\/p>\n<h3>The &ldquo;You have signed up for the following&rdquo; table is not there<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> The table is only built when you currently hold at least one sign-up, so it is hidden if you have none, or if the sign-up you are thinking of has already been cleared. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Scroll up to the sheets, open the one you volunteered on, and check whether your name is on a slot. If it is not, sign up again. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> you are certain you signed up, the slot still shows your name on the sheet, but no row appears in your table.<\/p>\n<h3>A link to one particular sheet sends me back to the main page<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> Links that point at a single sheet carry extra parts in the web address, and those parts get tidied away, which bounces you back to the main Volunteer SignUp page. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Do not rely on a copied sheet link. Open <a href=\"https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/volunteer-signup\/\">https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/volunteer-signup\/<\/a> and pick the sheet from the list &mdash; and remember that your own <strong>Clear<\/strong> links are on that main page anyway, whichever sheet they belong to. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> the main Volunteer SignUp page itself will not load.<\/p>\n<h3>I cleared the wrong row<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> <strong>Clear<\/strong> acts straight away and there is no undo, so a mistaken click frees the slot immediately. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> Go back to the sheet and sign up again on the slot you meant to keep. If it is still open, you will get it back. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> someone else has already taken the slot and the shift matters &mdash; contact the volunteer team that published the sheet rather than trying to fix it from the page.<\/p>\n<h2>FAQ<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q: Does Clear delete the task or the whole sheet?<\/strong><br \/>A: No. It removes only your own sign-up on that one row. The task, the sheet and everyone else&rsquo;s sign-ups are untouched, and the slot simply becomes open again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Can I edit a sign-up instead of clearing it?<\/strong><br \/>A: No. Clear is the only action available to you on your own sign-ups. To change slot, clear the one you hold and then sign up again on the slot you want.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Can I clear somebody else&rsquo;s sign-up?<\/strong><br \/>A: No. The table lists only the sign-ups in your own name, and the Clear links only ever apply to those.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Do I need an account to look at the sheets?<\/strong><br \/>A: Yes. Both viewing the published sheets and signing up need a signed-in account &mdash; signed-out visitors only see the notice and a Login link.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Q: Will the organiser be told that I have cleared my slot?<\/strong><br \/>A: Treat the sheet itself as the message: the moment you clear, the slot shows as open again for the organiser and for other volunteers.
