You do not need to register, sign in, or fill anything in.<\/div>\n<h2>Quick answer<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Open any recipe and click the star you want in the Rating row of the details bar at the top of the recipe. That single click is the whole action &mdash; there is no form, no comment box and no Save button. If you are signed in, the same page is reachable from your profile dropdown. The example used throughout this guide is <a href=\"https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/utsav-recipes\/recipe\/khaman-dhokla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mustard-Curry Leaf Khaman Dhokla<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Allow cookies in your browser.<\/strong> Your vote is stamped against a small marker stored in the browser you used. Block that marker &mdash; or rate in a private window &mdash; and the site cannot remember the vote as yours afterwards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One vote per browser.<\/strong> The marker lasts a year. Clicking a different star later replaces your earlier vote rather than adding a second one.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A sign-in box means you clicked something else.<\/strong> Rating never asks you to sign in. Other things do &mdash; <strong>My Recipes<\/strong>, <strong>Add your Recipe<\/strong> and saving a favourite all need an account. If a sign-in box opens, you have hit one of those, not the stars.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 1 &mdash; Open the recipe you want to rate<\/h2>\n<p>Click the recipe card, or paste the recipe address into your browser. The recipe opens on its own page with the photo, the details bar, the ingredients and the directions.<\/p>\n<p>Read it, cook it, or simply skim it &mdash; nothing is stopping you rating at any point. There is no waiting period and no check on whether you have made the dish.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2 &mdash; Click the star you want in the Rating row<\/h2>\n<p>Look at the details bar at the top of the recipe, on the right of the header. It lists the recipe&rsquo;s facts &mdash; preparation time, cooking time, servings, difficulty &mdash; and one of those rows is labelled <strong>Rating<\/strong>, with five grey stars beside it.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Move your pointer across the five stars. They light up as you go, so you can see the score you are about to give.<\/li>\n<li>Click the star that matches your verdict: one star for the lowest score, five for the highest.<\/li>\n<li>Let go. The row settles on your score and the recipe&rsquo;s average updates. On a phone the details bar stacks underneath the recipe photo instead of sitting to its right.<\/div>\n<h2>Step 3 &mdash; Or rate a related recipe from the foot of the page<\/h2>\n<p>Scroll to the bottom of a recipe and you pass <strong>Chef&rsquo;s Notes<\/strong>, the <strong>Previous recipe<\/strong> and <strong>Next recipe<\/strong> links, and then a <strong>Related Recipes<\/strong> row. Every card in that row carries its own five grey stars, just under the photo &mdash; and those stars are live for guests too.<\/p>\n<p>So if a related dish catches your eye, you can score it from here without opening it. The <strong>Browse Recipes<\/strong> list carries the same rating control on every card, so you can score several dishes in a row without opening a single one. The rest of this guide walks that route.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 4 &mdash; Open Browse Recipes<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <strong>Browse Recipes<\/strong>. Directly under the photo, above the recipe title, sits a row of five grey stars. That row is the same control as the one in the recipe header, and it behaves the same way &mdash; hover to preview, click to score.<\/p>\n<p>The small heart with a number in the corner of the photo is a different thing: that is the favourites count, and saving a favourite does need an account. Each recipe &mdash; whoever wrote it &mdash; carries its own independent star row, so you can work through several dishes in one visit. There is no <strong>Save<\/strong>, <strong>Submit<\/strong> or <strong>Post rating<\/strong> button anywhere on the page, and none is missing &mdash; the click on the star was the whole action. Once the stars have settled on your score, your rating is in.<\/p>\n<p>You can close the tab, or carry on browsing. It goes into the same tally as a signed-in member&rsquo;s and it moves the average score shown on the recipe page and on every card for that recipe.<\/p>\n<p>What it does not do:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>It carries no name.<\/strong> Nothing is published beside your score, and no profile is created for you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It is not written feedback.<\/strong> There is no review or comment box on a recipe page, so a guest cannot leave words &mdash; only a score.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It lives in one browser.<\/strong> Your vote travels with the browser you used, not with you. It takes a minute, and everything in this guide keeps working exactly the same way afterwards.<\/div>\n<h2>Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<h3>I click the stars and nothing happens<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> either the page has not finished loading, or you are looking at a recipe you published yourself &mdash; you cannot rate your own recipe, so its stars display the score but do not respond. <strong>Fix:<\/strong> wait for the page to settle and click again; if it is your own recipe, that is working as intended and there is nothing to change. <strong>Escalate if:<\/strong> the stars stay unresponsive on several recipes that are not yours, in more than one browser.<\/p>\n<h3>My rating disappeared when I came back to the recipe<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong> your vote is stamped against a marker stored in the browser.
