It&#8217;s designed to be fair to both hosts and renters.<\/p>\n<h3>The Simple Truth<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>Deposits Secure Your Booking<\/strong>: A deposit (often 25-50%) confirms your reservation and is generally non-refundable\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>Cancellation Fees Protect Hosts<\/strong>: If you cancel close to the event, hosts may not be able to rebook the date. Cancellation fees reflect that\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>Damage Claims Require Evidence<\/strong>: Hosts must provide proof of damage within 3 days. You have the right to respond before any charges are made\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>Security Holds<\/strong>: Some hosts may place a hold on your credit card for potential damages, released after the event if no issues arise.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Part B: Deposit Policy<\/h2>\n<h3>1. DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>1.1<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Purpose<\/strong>: Deposits secure Bookings, demonstrate Renter commitment, and provide hosts with financial protection in case of cancellation\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>1.2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Deposit Amount<\/strong>: Unless otherwise specified in the listing, Hosts may require a deposit of [25-50%] of the total Booking amount. CANCELLATION PROCEDURES<\/h3>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>3.1<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Renter-Initiated Cancellation<\/strong>: Renters may cancel through their account dashboard. Refunds, if any, will be processed automatically according to the applicable policy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>3.2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Host-Initiated Cancellation<\/strong>: If a Host cancels a confirmed Booking\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Renter receives a full refund of all amounts paid<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Host may be charged a cancellation fee of [10-25%] of the Booking value<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Host&#8217;s listing may be penalized in search rankings<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Multiple cancellations may result in account suspension<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>3.3<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Notification<\/strong>: Both parties will be notified of any cancellation by email and platform notification.<\/p>\n<h3>4. FORCE MAJEURE CANCELLATIONS<\/h3>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>4.1<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Definition<\/strong>: Force majeure events are circumstances beyond the reasonable control of either party, including\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, severe weather)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">War, terrorism, civil unrest<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Government orders, regulations, or restrictions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Public health emergencies, pandemics, epidemics<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Fire, explosion, or other accidents<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Strikes or industrial disputes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>4.2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Effect of Force Majeure<\/strong>: If a Booking cannot proceed due to force majeure\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The Host must notify the Renter and Platform immediately<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Both parties are released from their obligations<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Renters will receive a refund of all amounts paid, minus any non-recoverable costs (to be documented by Host)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Neither party is liable for additional damages (travel costs, etc.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>4.3<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Documentation<\/strong>: Hosts claiming force majeure must provide reasonable documentation (government orders, official notices, etc.).<\/p>\n<h3>5. SECURITY DEPOSITS AND DAMAGE CLAIMS<\/h3>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>5.1<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Security Deposits<\/strong>: Hosts may require a security deposit, which will be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Clearly disclosed in the listing<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Collected through the Platform (where supported) or arranged separately<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">Held for up to [14] days after the event pending damage assessment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>5.2<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Damage Claims Process<\/strong>\u00a0:<\/p>\n<div class=\"ds-scroll-area _1210dd7 c03cafe9\">\n<div class=\"ds-scroll-area__gutters\">\n<div class=\"ds-scroll-area__horizontal-gutter\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ds-scroll-area__vertical-gutter\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<table>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th>Step<\/th>\n<th>Timeline<\/th>\n<th>Description<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>1. Resolution<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Within 10 days<\/td>\n<td>If claim is valid, amount may be deducted from security deposit or charged to Renter<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>5.3<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Evidence Requirements<\/strong>: Hosts must provide clear evidence of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The damage existed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The damage was caused during the Renter&#8217;s event<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\">The cost of repair or replacement (with receipts or estimates)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>5.4<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Normal Wear and Tear<\/strong>: Hosts may not claim for normal wear and tear resulting from ordinary use of the Venue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"><strong>5.5<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Excess Liability<\/strong>: If damage exceeds the security deposit amount, the Host may seek the balance directly from the Renter.<\/p>\n<h3>6.
