How Money Moves and Problems Get Solved<\/h3>\n

This policy explains how funds are protected in escrow, when payments are released, and what happens when disputes arise between Clients and Freelancers.<\/p>\n

    Escrow Protects Everyone<\/strong>: Funds are held securely by our payment partner\u2014Clients can’t take them back without reason, and Freelancers can’t access them until work is approved .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Milestone-Based Releases<\/strong>: For larger projects, you can break payments into milestones. Each milestone is funded separately and released upon approval .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Disputes Happen\u2014We Help Resolve<\/strong>: If you can’t agree on quality or completion, our dispute resolution team mediates. If that fails, arbitration may be needed .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    No Chargebacks<\/strong>: Attempting to reverse payments through your bank instead of using our dispute process violates our terms and may result in account closure .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Fees Are Transparent<\/strong>: Platform fees are deducted before Freelancers receive payment .<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Part B: Escrow and Payment Terms<\/h2>\n

    1. ESCROW ACCOUNT STRUCTURE<\/h3>\n

    1.1<\/strong>\u00a0Escrow Partner<\/strong>: All payments are processed and held by our third-party payment partner in segregated escrow accounts. MyMahotsav does not hold client funds directly .<\/p>\n

    1.2<\/strong>\u00a0Trust Arrangement<\/strong>: Funds held in escrow are protected and not available to MyMahotsav’s creditors. In the event of our insolvency, funds would be distributed according to these Terms.<\/p>\n

    2. FUNDING REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n

    2.1<\/strong>\u00a0Fixed-Price Projects<\/strong>: Clients must deposit the full project amount (or full milestone amount) into escrow before work commences .<\/p>\n

    2.2<\/strong>\u00a0Hourly Projects<\/strong>: For hourly contracts, Clients must maintain a valid payment method. Funds are deducted weekly based on Freelancer-reported hours (subject to Client approval).<\/p>\n

    2.3<\/strong>\u00a0Tasks<\/strong>: Full payment is required at time of order.<\/p>\n

    3. PAYMENT RELEASE<\/h3>\n

    3.1<\/strong>\u00a0Client Approval<\/strong>: Funds are released from escrow when the Client:<\/p>\n

      Explicitly approves completed work (or milestone)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Fails to respond within the review period (automatic approval)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Agrees to release through dispute resolution<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3.2<\/strong>\u00a0Milestone Projects<\/strong>: For projects with multiple milestones:<\/p>\n

        Each milestone must be separately funded<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Funds for subsequent milestones are released only after prior milestones are approved<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Clients may terminate after any milestone without obligation for future milestones<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        3.3<\/strong>\u00a0Hourly Projects<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

          Freelancer submits weekly timesheet with description of work<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Client has [5] days to review and dispute hours<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Approved hours are paid automatically<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Disputed hours are held pending resolution<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          3.4<\/strong>\u00a0Platform Fee Deduction<\/strong>: Platform commissions and fees are deducted before payment is released to Freelancer .<\/p>\n

          4. REFUNDS<\/h3>\n

          4.1<\/strong>\u00a0Before Work Begins<\/strong>: Full refund to Client.<\/p>\n

          4.2<\/strong>\u00a0During Work<\/strong>: Client entitled to refund of unearned funds. Completed, approved work is non-refundable.<\/p>\n

          4.3<\/strong>\u00a0After Approval<\/strong>: No refunds for work that has been approved and paid.<\/p>\n

          5. DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESS<\/h3>\n

          5.1<\/strong>\u00a0Direct Negotiation<\/strong>: Parties must first attempt to resolve disputes directly through Platform messaging .<\/p>\n

          5.2<\/strong>\u00a0Platform Mediation<\/strong>: If direct negotiation fails, either party may request mediation by filing a dispute through the Platform.<\/p>\n

          5.3<\/strong>\u00a0Mediation Process<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

              6.2<\/strong>\u00a0Communications Off-Platform<\/strong>: Communications occurring off-platform will not be considered in dispute resolution .<\/p>\n

              7. CHARGEBACKS<\/h3>\n

              7.1<\/strong>\u00a0Definition<\/strong>: A chargeback occurs when a Client disputes a charge with their bank or credit card issuer instead of using the Platform’s dispute process.<\/p>\n

              7.2<\/strong>\u00a0Consequences<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

                The Client’s account will be immediately suspended<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                The Freelancer may have funds temporarily debited<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                We will defend valid charges with evidence<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              • \n

                Clients who file unjustified chargebacks may be permanently banned<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                7.3<\/strong>\u00a0Recovery<\/strong>: If we prevail in a chargeback dispute, funds will be restored to the Freelancer.<\/p>\n

                8. CURRENCY AND FEES<\/h3>\n

                8.1<\/strong>\u00a0Currency<\/strong>: Transactions occur in the currency specified at checkout. Exchange rates and conversion fees may apply.<\/p>\n

                8.2<\/strong>\u00a0Platform Fees<\/strong>: Fees are calculated as a percentage of the transaction amount and disclosed before payment .<\/p>\n
