Part A: Plain English Summary<\/h2>\n

Expectations for All Volunteers<\/h3>\n

This Code of Conduct outlines the behavioral standards expected of all volunteers serving through Utsav Volunteers\u2122. It applies to all volunteer activities, whether in-person, online, or remote\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    Protect Privacy<\/strong>: Keep confidential information private\u2014don’t share it\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Act with Integrity<\/strong>: Be honest about your qualifications and represent the organization appropriately\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Part B: Code of Conduct Provisions<\/h2>\n

    1. RESPECT FOR OTHERS<\/h3>\n

    1.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall treat everyone with respect and recognize their dignity, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, class, religion, belief, sex, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, health, or other status\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    1.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall value diversity and embrace cultural and personal differences.<\/p>\n

    1.3<\/strong>\u00a0The following behaviors are strictly prohibited\u00a0:<\/p>\n

    2. PROFESSIONALISM AND INTEGRITY<\/h3>\n

    2.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall act with integrity and reflect the values of the Organization in their actions\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    2.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall represent themselves honestly, avoiding false claims about qualifications, skills, or affiliations\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    2.3<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall only use the Organization’s name, branding, or platforms for approved activities that align with the Organization’s mission\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    2.4<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall not use their affiliation with the Organization for personal, political, or commercial gain\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    2.5<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall communicate respectfully and professionally across all platforms\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    3. COMPLIANCE WITH RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS<\/h3>\n

    3.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall perform only those duties and tasks assigned to them and within their physical capability\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    3.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall not operate or use any equipment or tools without proper training and authorization\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    3.3<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall observe all safety rules and use provided safety equipment\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    3.4<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall notify their supervisor immediately of any injury incurred while volunteering\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    4. CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTION<\/h3>\n

    4.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall respect confidentiality and handle any personal or sensitive information in line with data protection laws and Organization policies\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    4.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall not use confidential information for personal or commercial benefit\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    4.3<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall not disclose information about clients, beneficiaries, or organization operations to unauthorized persons.<\/p>\n

    5. CONFLICTS OF INTEREST<\/h3>\n

    5.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall disclose to the Organization any connections or activities that might conflict with their volunteer role\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    5.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall avoid situations where personal interests could improperly influence their volunteer duties.<\/p>\n

    6. SUBSTANCE USE<\/h3>\n

    6.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while volunteering\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    6.2<\/strong>\u00a0Prescription medications that may impair judgment or safety should be disclosed to supervisors where relevant.<\/p>\n

    7. REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY<\/h3>\n

    7.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers shall report any violations of this Code of Conduct to their supervisor or designated contact\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    7.2<\/strong>\u00a0Reports will be handled promptly and investigated in line with Organization policies\u00a0.<\/p>\n

    8. CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATIONS<\/h3>\n

    8.1<\/strong>\u00a0Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in\u00a0:<\/p>\n

    • \n

      Verbal or written warnings<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Removal from volunteer activities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Termination of volunteer status<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Restricted access to Organization facilities or events<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Legal action where appropriate<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      8.2<\/strong>\u00a0The Organization reserves the right to determine appropriate consequences based on the nature and severity of the violation.<\/p>\n

      9. ACKNOWLEDGMENT<\/h3>\n

      9.1<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n

      9.2<\/strong>\u00a0Volunteers understand that failure to adhere to this Code could result in losing their privilege to volunteer\u00a0.<\/p>\n

      Part C: Organization-Specific Addendums<\/h2>\n

      Organizations may supplement this Code of Conduct with additional rules specific to their:<\/p>\n

        Volunteer roles and activities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Facility policies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Safety requirements<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
