Listing owners — anyone who has added a temple, business, organisation or purohit listing on Utsav Listings™ and is waiting for it to appear publicly. You need to be signed in with the account that created the listing.<\/div>\n

Quick answer<\/h2>\n

If your Utsav Listings™ listing shows as pending and isn’t visible, it is waiting on moderator approval — new listings enter a pending-review state before they go live. Confirm you clicked Submit rather than only saving a draft, complete every required field, and watch for an approval email that confirms your listing has been published.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before you begin<\/h2>\n
    \n
  • Sign in with the same account you used to create the listing. Only the owner can see or edit a listing that has not been published yet.<\/li>\n
  • Open your own listings from your profile: select your avatar at the top right, then the Listings<\/strong> tab. The tab is split into Temples<\/strong>, Organisations<\/strong>, Purohits<\/strong> and Businesses<\/strong>, each with a count, so check the tab that matches the listing you created.<\/li>\n
  • You can go straight there with https:\/\/mymahotsav.com\/members\/<your-username>\/listings\/business\/<\/strong> — swap business<\/strong> for temples<\/strong>, organizations<\/strong> or purohit<\/strong> as needed.<\/li>\n
  • If a sign-in box appears instead of your profile, you are not signed in. Sign in and try the link again.<\/li>\n
  • Have a few minutes spare. Nothing here needs a payment or an upgrade — pending review applies to free packages too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What “pending review” actually means<\/h2>\n

    Utsav Listings™ is a moderated directory. When you finish the add-listing form, your listing is saved and queued for a human moderator to look over before it is shown to the public. Until that check happens, the listing exists and belongs to you, but it does not appear on the directory, on the map, or in search results.<\/p>\n

    This is normal and it applies to every new listing. It is not a rejection, and it is not something you have done wrong.<\/p>\n

    One thing that trips people up is the wording. Your profile Listings<\/strong> tab does not use the words “Live”, “Pending” or “Draft” on the card. It uses:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Published<\/strong> — approved and publicly visible. This is what people mean by “live”.<\/li>\n
    • Awaiting review<\/strong> — submitted and sitting with a moderator. This is what people mean by “pending”.<\/li>\n
    • Not published<\/strong> — saved but never submitted for review, so no moderator has seen it. This is what people mean by “draft”.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      That last distinction is the single most common reason a listing seems stuck: it is not waiting on us at all, it is waiting on you.       Check 1 — Did you submit, or only save a draft?<\/h2>\n

      The add-listing form is a multi-stage wizard: you move through Package, Title, Location, Contact, Linked Details, Activity and (for temples and organisations) Leadership using the Next<\/strong> button. Your listing is only handed to a moderator once you reach the end and submit it. Closing the tab part-way through leaves the work saved but unsubmitted.<\/p>\n

      To tell which happened, open your profile Listings<\/strong> tab and read the badge on the card:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Awaiting review<\/strong> — you did submit. There is nothing more to do; skip to “How long does approval take?” below.<\/li>\n
      • Not published<\/strong> — the listing never went to a moderator. Select Edit<\/strong> on the card, work through every stage with Next<\/strong>, and finish the form properly this time.<\/li>\n
      • No card at all — the listing was not saved under this account, or it was deleted. Check you are signed in as the right member and that you are looking at the right type tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        ℹ️ Note<\/strong>
        If you start a new listing and see a message saying we found a post you started earlier, that is your unsubmitted draft being offered back to you. Carry on from there rather than starting again, or you will end up with two half-finished listings.<\/div>\n

        Check 2 — Are all the required fields complete?<\/h2>\n

        Fields marked with an asterisk are required, and the form will not move past a stage until they are filled. The catch is that it does this quietly: when something required is missing, selecting Next<\/strong> simply redraws the same stage instead of showing a red error at the top. It is easy to read that as a frozen page and give up, leaving the listing unsubmitted.<\/p>\n

        The stage this happens on most often is Title<\/strong>, because of two fields that sit near the bottom:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Category<\/strong> — a chip-style box. It sometimes starts blank, and sometimes starts pre-filled with a placeholder chip such as Uncategorized<\/strong>. A placeholder does not count as a real choice, so remove it with the small × on the chip and pick a genuine category for your listing.<\/li>\n
        • Default Category<\/strong> — a dropdown that only offers the categories you have actually chosen above. Set Category<\/strong> first, then come back and set this one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          If you are editing an existing listing, watch for category chips whose label begins with two dashes, such as — Racetracks<\/strong>. Those are heading placeholders rather than real categories, and they fail the same check. Remove every one of them, and make sure Default Category<\/strong> matches a real category that is still in the box.<\/p>\n

          Once a stage accepts your details, Next<\/strong> moves you along as normal — that is your sign the required fields on that stage are satisfied.<\/p>\n

          Check 3 — Is it pending, or is it published but hard to find?<\/h2>\n

          Sometimes a listing has already been approved and the real problem is that you cannot see it where you expected. If the card reads Published<\/strong>, moderation is finished. Open the listing from the card itself, and give the directory and search a short while to pick up a newly approved listing. A brand-new listing can also sit further down a busy category than you expect, particularly if you have not added a location or images yet.<\/p>\n

          How long does approval take?<\/h2>\n

          Approval is a manual step done by a person, so the time it takes depends on how busy the moderation queue is rather than on a fixed timer. Most listings are looked at within a few working days. Weekends and festival periods are slower.<\/p>\n

          While you wait:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • Do not submit the listing a second time. A duplicate does not speed anything up, and the form will tell you a listing with that title already exists.<\/li>\n
          • You can keep editing the listing. Editing does not remove it from the queue.<\/li>\n
          • You do not need to keep the page open, and you do not need to stay signed in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            How you will know your listing is approved<\/h2>\n

            When a moderator approves your listing, we email the address on your account to confirm it has been published. Email is not always instant, so treat your profile Listings<\/strong> tab as the reliable check: when the badge on the card changes from Awaiting review<\/strong> to Published<\/strong>, your listing is live and anyone can find it.<\/p>\n

            If you were expecting an email and nothing has arrived, look in your spam or promotions folder before assuming the listing is still waiting, and check that the address on your account is one you still read.<\/p>\n

            When to escalate<\/h2>\n

            Raise a support ticket if any of these apply:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • Your listing has read Awaiting review<\/strong> for noticeably longer than a few working days.<\/li>\n
            • The card has disappeared from your profile Listings<\/strong> tab entirely and you did not delete it.<\/li>\n
            • Your listing went from pending to removed and you want to know why. There is no reason or moderator-note screen on your side, so a ticket is the only way to find out.<\/li>\n
            • You cannot get past a stage of the form even after filling everything marked with an asterisk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              To open a ticket, go to Contact us<\/strong> and open the support portal, then select + Create a New Ticket<\/strong>. Include your listing’s title, its type (temple, business, organisation or purohit), roughly when you submitted it, and the exact status shown on the card. That is enough for an agent to find it without writing back to ask.<\/p>\n

              Tips and best practices<\/h2>\n

              A complete listing clears review faster than a thin one, because the moderator has less to query.<\/p>\n

              🎯 Best practice<\/strong>
              Before you submit, fill in more than the required minimum: a clear description, a real category rather than a placeholder, a full address, contact details and at least one good photograph. Listings that look finished are approved with far fewer questions than listings that look abandoned.<\/div>\n
              💡 Tip<\/strong>
              Work through the form in one sitting if you can. The wizard saves as you go, but a half-finished listing sits as Not published<\/strong> and no one is waiting on it — so the clock on your review never starts.<\/div>\n

              Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n

              I submitted days ago and it still says “Awaiting review”<\/h3>\n

              Cause:<\/strong> your listing is genuinely in the queue and has not been reached yet, which is normal during busy or festival periods. Fix:<\/strong> leave it in place and do not resubmit; check the badge on your profile Listings<\/strong> tab once a day rather than refreshing the public page, which will not show an unapproved listing. Escalate if:<\/strong> it has been noticeably longer than a few working days — open a support ticket with the listing title, type and submission date.<\/p>\n

              Selecting Next does nothing and the same stage reappears<\/h3>\n

              Cause:<\/strong> a required field on that stage is empty or holds a placeholder value, and the form redraws the stage without a visible error. Fix:<\/strong> check every field marked with an asterisk on that stage, then check Category<\/strong> and Default Category<\/strong> in particular — remove any Uncategorized<\/strong> chip or any chip beginning with two dashes, pick a real category, then set Default Category<\/strong> to match. Escalate if:<\/strong> the stage still will not advance with every asterisked field filled; send a ticket naming the listing type and the stage you are stuck on.<\/p>\n

              My listing card says “Not published”, not “Awaiting review”<\/h3>\n

              Cause:<\/strong> the listing was saved but never submitted, so no moderator has ever seen it. Fix:<\/strong> select Edit<\/strong> on the card and work through every stage with Next<\/strong> until the form is complete and submitted; the badge should then read Awaiting review<\/strong>. Escalate if:<\/strong> the badge does not change after you finish the form — raise a ticket rather than creating a second listing.<\/p>\n

              The listing has vanished from my profile Listings tab<\/h3>\n

              Cause:<\/strong> you are looking at the wrong type tab or signed in as a different member, or the listing has been removed. Fix:<\/strong> check all four type tabs — Temples<\/strong>, Organisations<\/strong>, Purohits<\/strong> and Businesses<\/strong> — and confirm the name on the profile is yours. Escalate if:<\/strong> it is genuinely gone. There is no self-serve way to restore a removed listing, so open a support ticket with the listing title and type.<\/p>\n

              FAQ<\/h2>\n

              Q: Why is my listing still pending?<\/strong>
              A: Because a moderator has not reached it yet. Every new listing on Utsav Listings™ waits for a human check before it goes public, and the queue moves at different speeds depending on how many listings have come in.<\/p>\n

              Q: Did I submit my listing, or just save a draft?<\/strong>
              A: Open your profile Listings<\/strong> tab and read the badge on the card. Awaiting review<\/strong> means you submitted it. Not published<\/strong> means you did not — select Edit<\/strong> and finish the form.<\/p>\n

              Q: How long does listing approval take?<\/strong>
              A: There is no fixed timer, because a person reviews each listing. Most are looked at within a few working days; weekends and festival periods are slower. If yours has been waiting noticeably longer, raise a support ticket.<\/p>\n

              Q: How do I know when my listing is approved?<\/strong>
              A: You get an email at the address on your account, and the badge on your profile Listings<\/strong> tab changes to Published<\/strong>. The badge is the more reliable of the two, so check there first if no email has arrived.<\/p>\n

              Q: Can I edit my listing while it is pending?<\/strong>
              A: Yes. Select Edit<\/strong> on the card and change whatever you like. Editing does not take the listing out of the queue, and adding the detail a moderator would otherwise have to ask about usually helps.<\/p>\n

              Q: Will resubmitting my listing make it go live faster?<\/strong>
              A: No. A second copy does not jump the queue, and the form will normally tell you a listing with that title already exists. Leave the original in place and open a support ticket if it has been waiting too long.<\/p>\n

              A: No. Review applies to every new listing on every package, free or paid.<\/p>\n
