Great laptop and incredible price!
I was meaning to get a new laptop for months and then earned a bonus through work so thought I would treat myself. This is the first major purchase I have made in 18 months and I was really tentative, but the second I unboxed and set this laptop up I was over the moon. The laptop is firstly very lightweight, perfectly suitable for those on the move and has a sleek and attractive design. Secondly, it is fast and I mean fast! I am not a massive gamer nor streamer on a laptop, I usually use mine to access word-processing apps, but I have invested in some small and cozy games and this laptop runs them with complete ease. I would recommend small-medium size games, for example Tiny Glade or the Sims, as I believe the specs on this laptop would not accommodate larger games. Thirdly, the price. I was lucky to have purchased the laptop at £377, down from a whopping £495, so I caught an absolute bargain – but with the Black Friday sale forthcoming I wouldn’t be surprised if this product was reduced. All in all a fantastic laptop! Would highly recommend to those looking for a reliable and quick piece of technology. 10/10!!
Great Value
Good price and great quality.Easy to use and faster than my old laptop.Very happy with it .
Brilliant bit of kit
I love this laptop – it’s fast, powerful and has loads of storage. The only reason I’ve knocked off 1 star is because I need the Google Chrome browser for work, but every time I try to use it, it defaults to a Yahoo browser instead and I can’t find a way to get rid of it. So unless you particularly want to use the Yahoo browser, you are forced to use the Microsoft browser – which is excellent – it’s just that I needed the chrome browser. So apart from this one niggle, it’s a great laptop for the money.
Love it!
Easy to set up and use! Well worth the money and brilliant HD screen to screen Netflix etc. Fast and not too heavy either. If I had to give a negative comment it would be that the screen is not touch screen but it doesnât annoy me.
New laptop
It’s so much better than my old hp laptop, fast and easy to use.
Acer aspire-59 laptop
After 2nd attempt at delivery and a few phone calls with Amazon Customer Services laptop eventually delivered at the price originally agreed. So far so good. Good looking, sturdy all rounder laptop at a great price. Fairly easy set up. Would definitely recommend ð»ð
Battery life is terrible
I have only had it for a day. First thing I have installed in the Sims 4 obviously. I have played Sims 4 for about an hour and a half and the battery is now on low.I hope and assume this is just because I’m playing said game. I hope it will last longer when I’m using it for other things…Other than that so far it seems quick and functional. I really hope it will let me download the full Adobe suite as well. As this is what I have bought it for really but I just wanted to go back to 2008 for a little while before I start my course.Pretty basic review I know but I’m just a normal person who knows nothing about computers. Google told me this would run both Sims and Adobe. Only time will tell.
Great value laptop at £449 when bought, but probably more competitors around full price
I was looking for a fairly light 15-16″ laptop with 1TB HD and >8GB RAM – plenty of choice around the £500 mark but only a couple around £400-450 – one of which (Dell Inspiron) was fantastic spec, but got slated for over-heating (thank you Reviewers!). So this Acer was the remaining contender and has proven to be absolutely superb.Pros:- Great screen (but note it’s not a touch sensitive)- Excellent spec for ~£450; i5 / 1TB / 16GB was plenty for what I needed (hard work, not gaming)- Full keyboard (despite constantly hitting ‘Power’ when trying to ‘Delete’ – I’ll get there!)Cons:- No USB-C (I didn’t twig that was so much of a snag until researching USB Hubs, which must have USB-C not USB-B)- Flimsy charging plug and cable (time will tell if that’s a snag)If you can get it at ~£450 then it’s a bargain, but there are plenty of other (and potentially better) contenders at the ~£550 full price.
