Job Description:
We seek a proactive and enthusiastic Public Relations Volunteer to support our communication and outreach efforts. The Public Relations Volunteer will assist in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility, engage stakeholders, and promote our initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with media contacts, influencers, and other key stakeholders.
- Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other promotional materials.
- Assist in organizing press conferences, media interviews, and public events.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on the organization’s media presence.
- Manage the organization’s social media platforms and website to share updates and engage followers.
- Create compelling content, including articles, blog posts, and newsletters, to communicate the organization’s mission and impact.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather information and stories for public relations purposes.
- Support the development of marketing collateral, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist in organizing fundraising events, donor outreach activities, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and networking forums.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Previous experience in public relations, media relations, or marketing (preferred).
- Passion for social justice and advocacy.
