Celebrated on the autumnal new moon, usually in October or early November, Diwali is a traditional Indian festival of thanksgiving – it celebrates the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, over despair, and good over evil. Diwali is a homecoming, with family and friends gathering to light lamps, exchange gifts, and share festive meals.

Festivities at the Bay Area Diwali Festival include a wonderful feast of food, music, and dance, including a traditional Rangoli display and art and craft booths. Come to enjoy the festive atmosphere of a cultural kaleidoscope of activities and performances. From 11 am to 6 pm, the festival appeals to all the senses; delicious Indian food, music, dancing, and a Kids Zone.

The Stage is yours!
