7pm – 10pm

Indian Classical Fusion with Beats

Feat Shivam Rath, Sangeet Mishra and other guest musicians.

Setting intention through sound, bass, and beats, the evening promises a dynamic journey from subtle ceremonial silence, lush atmospheric soundscapes to upbeat dance music, mantra singing, live instrumentation, and then returning to the meditational space.

The music reflects a fine balance between freedom and structure, blending ancient and timeless sounds with modern technology. In simpler words, it is a blend of the head and the heart.

Joining Sangeet Mishra is Shivam Rath, who will communicate through music and improvise around the Indian Raga Sphere while sharing traditional Bhajans and interactive mantra Kirtans set in the rich bed of Indian Classical Music. Special support on rhythm and Tabla is provided by Rodney Wright, with guest DJs to be announced soon.

This is a great opportunity to experience Indian classical music like never before, with a true master of 8th generations sharing the ancient lineage of his family’s musical knowledge. Discover the power of this music with a full sound system of sub-bass and beats, set upon the natural setting in Mt Jerusalem National Park.

This spiritual musical experience of the highest degree is led by Sangeet Mishra, an 8th generation sarangi player from Benares, who has been immersed in his musical Sadhana (spiritual practice) his whole life. Sangeet is well recognized around India and the world as a young leading master, consistently evoking unforgettable musical experiences. “Sangeet” means sound or music in Sanskrit and follows a deep belief in the spirit of sound.

While Sangeet plays the traditional Indian violin, Shivam Rath is a classically trained musician who studied with his father as a child and received instruction from Indian teachers in Varanasi and Kolkata, including world-renowned slide guitarist Debashish Battacharya. Shivam has adopted the use of the 22-string fusion slide guitar with a Himalayan crystal ball for added grace and tone. For this event, Shivam will blend Raga and mantra with live looping and cutting-edge technology.
