BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir will offer the community a guided tour of the temple where you can enjoy its beauty while learning about the world’s oldest living religion – Hinduism. The 45-minute tour will be followed by a brief Q & A session.
The Mandir, one of the largest Hindu temples in the United States, is comprised of Turkish limestone, Italian marble, and Indian pink sandstone. More than 34,000 individual stone pieces were carved by hand in India, shipped to the U.S., and assembled in Lilburn like a giant jigsaw puzzle. The Mandir is completely etched with intricate carvings, depicting a mosaic of tales of inspiration, devotion, and historic figures from Hinduism.
Please note: Following the temple’s guidelines no shorts, skirts, or sleeveless tops are allowed. No photography inside the temple. Please remove shoes before entering the temple.
