Satyanarayana Puja is usually performed in reverence of Lord Narayana, who is also a form of Lord Vishnu. In this form, the Lord is believed to be the embodiment of Truth. Worshiping in the evening is often considered more appropriate. However, it can be done during the day, or even in the morning. Devotees have to observe fast on the fixed day of worship. After taking bath, devotees can perform this puja themselves.
Stages of Satyanarayan Puja
- Take a bath to cleanse and purify body, mind and soul
- Prepare a Mandala and keep the picture of the idol/murti of Lord Ganesha and Lord Satyanarayan ready
- Chant and worship Ganesha Mantra
- Perform Satyanarayan Puja Vidhi with Aarti and Mantra Jaap
- Memorize all the 271 verses of the famous Satyanarayan Katha
- Perform Homa (Fire Ritual)

Satyanarayan Puja Vidhi

The Vidhi in Simple Terms
