Baisakhi also pronounced as बैसाखी, is also known as Vaisakhi, is a holiday celebrated across India with tremendous zeal and intensity. It celebrates the start of the Sikh New Year and also honours Guru Gobind Singh’s founding of the Khalsa Panth in 1699. Every year, Baisakhi is celebrated on April 14 or 15 and is celebrated in diverse ways throughout India.
