Food Styling Basics for Social Media

June 7, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm AWST

A fun, fast-paced workshop designed for anyone looking to lift the quality of their social media food or product images to the next level.

I have 35 years’ experience in food styling from advertising to designing and creating props for blockbuster movies (think Lord of the Rings, Avatar, King Kong), product shots and recipes for local producers.

In 2021 I won the Marks & Spencer Food Portraiture category in the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year competition – a prestigious worldwide food photography competition that attracts thousands of entries every year.

Whether you’re a producer creating your own social media content, a blogger, café or restaurant owner, winemaker, or an aspiring food stylist and/or photographer, the principles of good styling and photography remain the same.

Let me help you get to the next level!

This workshop covers the essentials of styling including composition, angles, use of colour & props, and how to work out your go-to set-up to give you the confidence to create better food images in your own space.

It includes hands-on exercises putting into practice the principles of good styling using top quality ingredients and a large selection of props & surfaces from Harriet’s extensive props library.

(Fee covers all materials, course notes, Eventbrite fees and taxes , and drinks and snacks including a substantial morning tea).
