These terms supplement the general Contest rules for essay contests. If you’re writing about culture, faith, or traditions, these additional rules apply.
The Simple Truth #

Part B: Essay Contest-Specific Terms #
1. ESSAY REQUIREMENTS #
1.1 Length:

1.3 Language: Essays must be submitted in English unless otherwise specified. Non-English submissions may require translation.
2. CONTENT AND STRUCTURE #
2.1 Required Elements:

Main body with clear structure (introduction, development, conclusion)

Citations/references where applicable
2.2 Themes: Essays must address the contest theme as described in the Contest announcement.
2.3 Originality: Essays must be original, unpublished work. Previously published essays may be eligible if Entrant retains rights.
3. PLAGIARISM AND ATTRIBUTION #
3.1 Plagiarism Prohibited: Entries containing plagiarized content will be disqualified .
3.2 Citations: Sources must be properly cited using a consistent citation style (MLA, APA, Chicago).
3.3 Quotations: Direct quotations must be indicated with quotation marks and properly attributed.
3.4 Verification: MyMahotsav may use plagiarism detection software. Suspected plagiarism will be investigated.
4. SENSITIVE TOPICS #
4.1 Religious and Cultural Content: Handle religious and cultural topics with respect. Present diverse viewpoints where appropriate. Avoid language that could be perceived as insulting or dismissive.
4.2 Historical Accuracy: Historical claims should be supported by reliable sources.
4.3 Personal Experience: Essays based on personal experience are welcome but should not disclose private information about others without consent.
5. PROHIBITED CONTENT #
