These terms supplement the general Contest rules for photo contests. If you’re entering a photo contest, these additional rules apply.
The Simple Truth #

High-Quality Images: Submit your best work—proper resolution, good composition .

Model Releases Needed: If people are recognizable in your photo, you need their permission .

No Excessive Editing: Some editing is fine, but don’t misrepresent the scene.

You Own Your Photos: We get a license to use them for the contest, but you keep copyright .

Categories May Apply: Some contests have categories like “Mobile Photography” or “Professional.”
Part B: Photo Contest-Specific Terms #
1. PHOTOGRAPHY CATEGORIES #
1.1 Photo contests may include categories such as:

Mobile Photography (taken with smartphone/tablet)

Professional Photography (DSLR/mirrorless)

Traditional/Cultural Photography

Contemporary/Modern Interpretation

Black and White

Color
1.2 Entrants must select the correct category for their submission. Entries in the wrong category may be disqualified or re-categorized at judges’ discretion.
2. IMAGE REQUIREMENTS #
2.1 Resolution and Quality:

Minimum resolution: 1920px on the longest side

Recommended resolution: 3000px+ for potential print use

300 DPI recommended for entries that may be printed

JPEG format preferred (PNG accepted)
2.2 File Size:

Maximum file size: 25 MB

Larger files may be compressed; please maintain quality
2.3 Color Space: sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998)
3. EDITING AND MANIPULATION #
3.1 Permitted Editing:

Color correction and exposure adjustment

Cropping

Sharpening

Spot removal (dust, minor blemishes)

Black and white conversion
3.2 Prohibited Editing:

Adding or removing significant elements

Composite images (combining multiple photos unless specified)

3.3 Disclosure: Judges may request original, unedited files to verify authenticity.
4. MODEL AND PROPERTY RELEASES #
4.1 Model Releases: If your photo includes recognizable individuals, you must have written permission from each person (or their parent/guardian if under 18) allowing the photo to be used as described in these Terms .
4.2 Property Releases: If your photo includes private property (homes, businesses, artwork), you may need permission from the property owner.
4.3 Documentation: Keep signed releases. MyMahotsav may request copies. Failure to provide releases may result in disqualification.
5. LOCATION AND SUBJECT RESTRICTIONS #
5.1 Sensitive Locations: Photos taken in sensitive locations (temples, religious sites, private ceremonies) must be taken with respect and, where appropriate, permission.
5.2 No Illegal Activity: Photos depicting illegal activities are prohibited.
5.3 Wildlife and Nature: Photos of wildlife must not show signs of animal distress or unethical practices.
6. METADATA AND CAPTIONS #
6.1 Include the following information with your submission:

7. SERIES SUBMISSIONS (If Applicable) #
7.1 For contests allowing series/portfolio entries:
