Taking Photos and Recording at Events #
Events are memorable—it’s natural to want to capture them. But photography and recording can also raise privacy, safety, and intellectual property concerns. This policy explains the rules.
The Simple Truth #

Organizers set the rules: Each event may have its own photography policy (check before you click).

Ask permission: Before photographing someone, especially up close, ask.

No commercial use: Don’t sell or commercially exploit event photos without permission.

Respect performers: Many artists restrict recording of their performances.

Privacy matters: Don’t share photos that could embarrass or endanger others.

1. GENERAL PRINCIPLES #
1.1 Organizer Authority #
1.1.1 Event Organizers have the right to establish rules regarding photography, audio recording, and video recording at their events.
1.1.2 These rules must be:

2. PERSONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING #
2.1 Permitted Uses #
Unless restricted by the Organizer, attendees may generally:

Take photos for personal use

Record short videos for personal use

Share on social media (with appropriate attribution)
2.1.1 “Personal use” means:

Not for commercial purposes

Not for widespread distribution

Not violating others’ rights
2.2 Prohibited Uses #

Selling images to media or stock agencies

Using images for advertising or promotion

2.3 Respect for Others #
2.3.1 When photographing people:

10. CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATIONS #

Option 1: Open Photography
Photography Policy: Personal photography welcome. Please be respectful of others and ask before taking close-ups. No professional equipment without prior accreditation. #EventHashtag
Option 2: Restricted Photography
Photography Policy: To protect the artist’s performance, photography and recording are strictly prohibited during the set. Photos welcome in common areas before/after. Thank you for respecting the artist’s wishes.
Option 3: No Photography
Photography Policy: No photography or recording permitted anywhere in the venue. Please put away all devices and enjoy the experience live.
