Sharing Your Experiences Through Reviews #

Our platforms allow users to leave reviews and ratings for temples, priests, businesses, and NGOs. This helps others make informed decisions. This policy explains the rules for writing reviews.

The Simple Truth #

• Be honest: Reviews should reflect your genuine experience.

• Be respectful: Don’t use reviews to attack, harass, or discriminate.

• No fake reviews: Don’t post reviews for your own business or pay others to post positive reviews.

• No revenge reviews: Don’t use reviews to punish someone you have a personal dispute with.

• We may remove reviews: Reviews that violate our policies will be removed.

• Reviews are opinions: They represent the reviewer’s opinion, not fact endorsed by us.

Part B: Legal Terms and Conditions #

1. Purpose of Reviews #

1.1 Reviews and ratings are intended to help users make informed decisions about temples, priests, businesses, and NGOs listed on our platforms.

1.2 Reviews reflect the personal opinions and experiences of individual users. Utsav Mandirs™ and Utsav Listings™ do not endorse or verify the accuracy of reviews.

2. Eligibility to Post Reviews #

2.1 You may post a review only if:

• You have had a genuine experience with the entity you are reviewing

• You are not the owner, employee, or affiliate of the entity

• You have not been offered payment or other incentive to post the review

• You are at least 18 years old

3. Review Content Standards #

3.1 Reviews must:

• Be based on actual, first-hand experience

• Be honest and truthful

• Focus on the entity’s products, services, or facilities

• Use respectful language

4.1 Fake Reviews: You may not post fake or fraudulent reviews, including:

• Positive reviews for your own business

• Negative reviews for competitors

• Reviews paid for or incentivized without disclosure

4.2 Review Gating: Businesses may not solicit reviews only from satisfied customers or discourage negative reviews.

4.3 Review Bombing: Coordinated campaigns to post multiple negative reviews based on factors unrelated to the business (e.g., political or religious disagreements) are prohibited.

4.4 Impersonation: You may not post reviews pretending to be someone else.

5. Business Responses to Reviews #

5.1 Verified Listing Owners may respond publicly to reviews.

5.2 Responses must:

• Be respectful and professional

• Address the reviewer’s concerns constructively

• Not disclose private customer information

• Not harass or threaten the reviewer

5.3 We may remove responses that violate these standards.

6. Removal of Reviews #

6.1 We may remove reviews that:

• Violate these Terms

• Are determined to be fake or fraudulent

• Are the subject of a valid legal complaint (defamation, etc.)

• Contain prohibited content

6.2 Reporting Reviews: To report a review:

• Use the “Report” button on the review

• Provide reason for reporting

• Submit evidence supporting your claim

7.1 Utsav Mandirs™ and Utsav Listings™ do not endorse any reviews. Reviews are the sole opinion of the reviewer.

7.2 We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any review.

8. Liability and Indemnification #

8.1 Reviewers are solely responsible for the content they post.

8.2 You agree to indemnify MyMahotsav Futuretech Ltd for any claims arising from reviews you post.

9. Business Right to Respond #

9.1 Listed entities have the right to:

• Respond publicly to reviews

• Report reviews they believe violate policies

• Seek removal of defamatory reviews through legal process

9.2 Businesses may not:

• Threaten legal action against reviewers for negative reviews (unless truly defamatory)

• Attempt to intimidate reviewers

• Offer incentives for review removal

Part C: Jurisdiction-Specific Addendums #

India Addendum #

Consumer Protection Act, 2019: Fake reviews may constitute unfair trade practice. Businesses engaging in fake reviews may face penalties.

IT Rules, 2021: Intermediaries must remove defamatory content upon actual knowledge.

UK/EU Addendum #

Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008: Fake reviews are prohibited as misleading commercial practices.

GDPR: Reviews containing personal data must comply with data protection principles.

US Addendum #

FTC Guidelines: Endorsements must reflect honest opinions. Paid reviews must be disclosed.

Section 230: Protects platforms from liability for user-generated reviews.
