Utsav Mandirs™ is a dedicated directory for temples and religious institutions. This document explains the special terms that apply when Listing a temple.

The Simple Truth #

• Temples are sacred spaces: We treat temple listings with special respect and sensitivity.

• Accurate information matters: Devotees rely on correct details—timings, location, traditions.

• Only real temples: Listings must be for actual, physical temples (not virtual or conceptual).

• Respect all traditions: Listings should honour the temple’s traditions without denigrating others.

• Trustees and managers: Only authorised representatives should claim and manage temple listings.

Part B: Legal Terms and Conditions #

1. Eligibility for Temple Listings #

1.1 A temple may be listed on Utsav Mandirs™ if it:

• Is a physical place of worship (not exclusively virtual)

• Is open to devotees/visitors (may have restricted access areas)

• Has a dedicated religious purpose

• Is not engaged in illegal activities

1.2 Prohibited Temple Listings:

• Temples promoting hatred or violence

• Temples engaged in illegal activities

• Fake or non-existent temples

• Temples that discriminate unlawfully

7.1 Temples may list events through Utsav Pass™ integration.

7.2 Event listings must:

• Be for actual temple events

• Provide accurate dates and times

• Disclose any fees

• Not promote prohibited activities

8. Community Groups #

8.1 Temples may create associated Utsav World™ groups for devotees.

8.2 Temple-managed groups must:

• Follow Community Guidelines

• Be moderated appropriately

• Not be used for harassment

9. Removal of Temple Listings #

9.1 Temple listings may be removed if:

• The temple ceases to exist

• Information is found to be fraudulent

• The temple engages in illegal activities

• Upon verified request from authorized representatives

• Multiple user complaints about accuracy

9.2 Appeals: Temple representatives may appeal removal through the standard appeals process.

10. Special Considerations for Sensitive Temples #

10.1 Some temples have restricted entry based on tradition (e.g., certain temples do not allow entry to non-Hindus). Such restrictions must be:

• Clearly disclosed in the Listing

• Based on actual temple tradition

• Compliant with applicable law

Part C: Jurisdiction-Specific Addendums #

India Addendum #

Temple Administration: Many Indian temples are governed by state-specific Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Acts. Listing information should be consistent with official records.

Places of Worship Act, 1991: Religious character of places of worship as of August 15, 1947 shall be maintained.

UK/EU Addendum #

Charity Commission: Temples registered as charities in the UK must comply with charity law requirements.

US Addendum #

Tax-Exempt Status: Temples with 501(c)(3) status may indicate this for donor information.
