Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and devout Temple Purohit to perform religious rituals and ceremonies according to Vedic traditions. The Temple Purohit will play a key role in maintaining the sanctity and spiritual vibrancy of the temple and guiding devotees in their spiritual journey.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily puja, aarti, and other rituals according to prescribed Vedic practices.
- Conduct special ceremonies and festivals, including weddings, yagnas, and kirtans.
- Recite Vedic mantras and prayers during rituals and ceremonies.
- Provide spiritual guidance and counselling to devotees seeking blessings and guidance.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the temple premises and sacred spaces.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating temple events, festivals, and celebrations.
- Teach and educate devotees about the significance of rituals, scriptures, and spiritual practices.
- Uphold the traditions and customs of the temple and promote adherence to dharma and righteousness.
- Participate in temple outreach activities, including community service and charity initiatives.
- Collaborate with temple trustees and other staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of temple operations.
Qualifications:
- Completed formal training and certification as a Hindu priest or purohit.
- In-depth knowledge of Vedic scriptures, rituals, and traditions.
- Proficiency in Sanskrit and ability to recite mantras and prayers with clarity and precision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Devotion to Lord Krishna and commitment to upholding the principles of Sanatana Dharma.
- Previous experience working as a temple purohit or priest (preferred).
- Respect for all devotees and adherence to principles of ahimsa and compassion.
