This is very good value for money
Under £700 for an i7 laptop with 16Gb of ram and a 1Tb SSD is really good. Came with windows 10, but that’s now upgraded to windows 11, which it’s compatible with, and was a trouble free upgrade.Overall, I’m super happy with it, and the only minor quibbles I have aren’t enough to stop it being a five star product for me.The downsides: the sound isn’t super loud. With the default media player, I was struggling to hear TV shows. The speaker is underneath, and is easily blocked, and even without that it’s quiet. Switch to something like VLC player to get a volume boost, but it’s not got impressive inbuilt speakers. The keyboard backlight is white on silver keys, so it is basically no help in actually seeing the keys. Black keys or a different colour backlight would help with this, but if I weren’t a touch typist, I’d be having to move position to see which keys were which. There’s the only quibbles I have, and they’re minor. I’m using this to play modded minecraft with 200 mods, and AAA game titles, and it’s handling everything without breaking stride.
good for Design Work and Softwares
I have been a loyal Asus user for over a decade, and I believe this is a good product – I am a designer and this is very well for working with design software. The only downside I have noticed relates to its screen quality. When viewing high-definition movies or videos, the blacks and colours appear pixelated. I would still recommend it.
Very good but……
Quiet responsive laptop with good speed only flaw is the keyboard where it is difficult to see the lettering in some light situations. Would be better with a darker lighting for the keyboard illumination or stick on symbols.
Excellent laptop, very quick too
This is an amazing laptop, press the on/off switch, and itâs ready to use!Screen & sound quality really nice, and backlit keyboard is great if you want to type in the dark, but can be more difficult to see when itâs light – also, I wish theyâd left the numbers keypad buttons where youâd find them on other computers, as itâs quite difficult to get used to where + and – keys are, because other computers seem to have them in a standard place, but theyâve been moved on this one, so easy to get caught out when trying to type anything quickly. However, thatâs my one and only gripe – other than this, itâs excellent in every way.If they were going to improve it, Iâd like to see the numeric keypad back to the âusualâ format (that all the others seem to use as a standard), and possibly the inclusion of an SD card slot, but Iâm being really picky if anything!Would I recommend?: Definitely yes
3 years later
Still works like a beast. Good battery life. Multiple tasks at once. It hasn’t slowed. Love it.
A great replacement
After slogging away with my old dinosaur of a computer for over 10 years, I finally bit the bullet and ordered this new one. It was easy to install the things I needed from my old computer, and is incredibly fast. I am sure it will last as long as my old one :>)I was a little concerned that it was reduced in price due to it’s packaging condition however, it arrived looking perfect and hasn’t been an issue at all.The only reason I didn’t score the battery as five stars is because I haven’t had it long enough to see it perform over time, but will update this as necessary.I would recommend it to anyone who is ready for a fast upgrade. Very pleased.
Fast performance, good quality camera
I have it for 2 weeks and so far very pleased with it’s performance. Fast enough for my needs had great quality camera and audio for video conferences and it’s light enough to carry around.Amazon advertised its processor speed as 4.7GHz but it’s actually 2.8GHz.
Weird keyboard, low battery life, screen average
The keyboard (and mouse) are the basic ways of interacting with any laptop. And even though this is a 15.6 inch screen laptop, ASUS couldn’t have left the standard keyboard for 15.6 inches alone, but had to remove a column of keys on the number pad. “Home” and “End” keys are gone and one has to use the numpad for those functions, but there is no light for the NumLock key so there’s no way to tell if it’s on or off. Gone are the “-“, “+” and “Enter” key on the NumPad. In short, it’s an annoyance and a pain to use this laptop. I have returned it.
