Built by the Sharma Charitable Trust, led by local philanthropist Mahesh Sharma, as a tribute to his late father.
Land was donated by the Sharma family in the outskirts of Varanasi, near a rapidly developing residential area.
The temple was designed by a team blending traditional Nagara-style architecture with modern facilities — marble flooring, spacious halls, and wheelchair access.
Architecture:
Style: North Indian Nagara architecture with a shikhara (spire) rising above the sanctum.
Main Sanctum (Garbha Griha):
Houses a smooth, black Shivlinga adorned daily with bel patra (bilva leaves), marigold garlands, and a silver snake coiled around.
Always scented with sandalwood paste and incense.
Courtyard:
Paved with red sandstone, with a Tulsi plant in the center.
Benches for devotees to sit and listen to evening discourses.
Small Shrines:
Ganesha Mandap near the entrance.
Mata Parvati Shrine to the left of the main sanctum.
Puja Storage Room:
Contains brass lamps, conch shells, ritual vessels, and a library of palm-leaf manuscripts.
