The Divine Separation: Goddess Lakshmi left Vaikuntha after Sage Bhrigu kicked Vishnu in the chest, and Lakshmi felt Vishnu did not punish the sage enough. Vishnu came to Earth searching for her, settling in the Venkata hills, and later took the form of Srinivasa.
Marriage to Padmavati: During his penance, Vishnu (as Srinivasa) fell in love with and married Padmavati, the daughter of King Akasha. Lord Vishnu took a loan from Kubera, the god of wealth, to fund the marriage, promising to repay it by the end of Kali Yuga.
Swayambhu Idol: The idol of Lord Venkateswara is believed to have naturally appeared on Earth and was not created by human hands.
The Sound of the Ocean: Within the inner sanctum, devotees often report hearing the sound of ocean waves, believed by many to be the presence of Goddess Lakshmi.
